Math class wants to celebrate Dr. Seuss’ birthday and Read Across America Week too!!
A detailed lesson plan to help you use this riddle in your classroom is available in my store. It allows students to use 4th grade math strategies to solve a Dr. Seuss like riddle and create a product to display on the classroom door or bulletin. It covers all 8 of the mathematical practices and multiple 4th grade Common Core Standards It also extends students thinking by comparing the customary system and the metric system.
***In my classroom we decorated my door for Read Across America Week to look like a colorful Seuss-y street with a picture of The Foot Book cover character and a word bubble with the riddle inside. Students work on this project during math station time. This could also be done as a take home project or whole group activity.
