This is such a fun craft to do and you can keep it up all year! I read Oh, the Places You'll Go by Dr. Seuss and then we talk about all the places we want to go. We also discuss what each student wants to be when they grow up. The students write about what they want to be and then they make their own hot air balloon. I print a wallet size photo to put in the balloon but that is totally optional. I cut yarn to connect the basket to the balloon. You can make it however long you would like. I tape the yarn on the back of the basket and the balloon. I have my students color the hot air balloon with markers.
