This download contains a biographical reading comprehension passage about Dr. Seuss. Students will read a full page passage about the author to answer 5 multiple choice questions and 1 short answer question. Students will also identify true and false statements by cutting and gluing statements. Students will color books to identify fact or opinion statements. A writing extension is also included, as students will write on the prompt "Dr. Seuss had a hard time getting his first children’s book published, but he didn’t give up. When is a time that you had to keep trying to do something? Why is it important to never give up?".
This passage and its activities are geared toward a third grade level. It can be a great resource to include Dr. Seuss's birthday celebration into your lessons for middle elementary children.
