The Sneetches Color-By-Parts-Of-Speech – a versatile, hand-drawn color-coding activity. An image of two Sneetches for students to sort different parts of speech by color-coding each word. All of the words have been pulled from Dr. Seuss’ short story The Sneetches.
1 / Parts of speech covered: nouns, verbs, adjectives, & adverbs
2 / Ideas for using this color-coding activity:
--Print a copy for each student, and use the activity for group work or in a review station.
--Print a copy for each student and use in conjunction with reading The Sneetches.
--Print a class set, laminate, and use dry erase markers to color.
--Use the image digitally by placing the image in a flipchart or powerpoint for students to “color” on laptops (our school system provides laptops for each student). You could also project the image for students to color on your whiteboard / if you have a smartboard in your classroom.
I hope this works well for you and your students!
