Product Description
This lesson is a great compliment to any Dr. Seuss or World War 2 unit. The handout has a link to a YouTube video where to can watch a "Private Snafu" military training video created by Dr. Seuss. The handout asks students to identify metaphors used in the video and to relate the idea of "spreading rumors" to their own lives. I used this as an activity to incorporate Seuss into our War Novel Unit. This can be a challenge for younger grades, but my students really enjoyed seeing this side of Dr. Seuss.

***This activity does not give a lot of information regarding Dr. Seuss' involvement in the war effort. It is meant to be a supplement or mini-activity within a unit.***
