This is a list of the high frequency sight words that students specifically need to know for success reading Mrs. Brown Went to Town. Targeting the exact words needed to read this text aligns with the Reading Foundation Skills found in the CCSS. Word recognition is stressed with the goal of reading text with sufficient accuracy and fluency to support comprehension. CCSS RF.2.3 and 2.4
~~Sight Word Homework Page:
This is a parent-friendly homework that gives extra practice time for sight words. We also read the list in class with our partners.
~~Discussion Questions for Teacher-Led Conversations:
“K-2 should participate in rich, structured conversations with an adult in response to written texts....orally comparing and contrasting as well as analyzing and synthesizing, in the manner called for by the Standards.” (Various standards under Reading Literature. Each question is labeled with its standard.)
~~Response to Literature:
Short constructed response is an element that will be part of the new standardized testing norm.

This 6 question test contains 4 multiple choice and 2 short response questions. The questions cover a combination of Reading Literature and Language Standards.
