There are 3 different measuring activities in this pack.
Each can be measured with any kind of unit, whether a manipulative, measured in cms or inches. Teachers can decide if they want it to the nearest unit or want to include halves and so on.
Activity 1: The dragons have been captured and thrown into cages! Find the perimeter and area of the front of the cage so they can be rescued. Two recording sheets are included at the end.
Activity 2: The dragons are trying to determine who is the biggest, baddest, scariest and fiercest dragon of all! Estimate their length then measure along the black lines and record.
Activity 3: Dragons love to fly! Estimate and measure their flight paths to see who went the farthest. I suggest students use string to accurately follow the flight paths then hold against a ruler.
