This is a fantastic all-encompassing rubric to assess acting in a drama class. The rubric is on a 5 point scale, and assesses five categories: movement, character, blocking, voice, and facial expression.
The document includes two pages: one for a pre-assessment, and one for the final assessment. It is in document form so you can edit and change as you see fit.
I use this with my drama students at the beginning of the course and the end in order to show student growth. Once you become familiar with the rubric, grading becomes a breeze. This works perfectly for Professional Growth Plans! You could also use it for students to assess each other, and for performers to assess themselves after performing or while watching themselves perform on video.
Perfect for drama // theater arts classes for middle school or high school level.
