Teaching physicality is KEY for high school drama students - they need to understand body language, and the idea that our body speaks louder than words, even as actors.
I use this with my senior level drama students, but I've also used it with strong junior classes.
-what is physicality and why it's important
-a chart that asks them about THEIR physicality from head to toe
(this helps them relate it to themselves)
-a second handout that they can use with any character they're playing
-sometimes I show them movies with "stock characters" and ask them to fill out the second worksheet based off this
-this can turn into an awesome workshop on body language, and working in groups to "scan" each other head to toe and really focus on the little things that make a big difference with body language
Hope it helps!
It will easily become one of your "go to" drama handouts, that can be used whenever, and over and over again (I hope!)
