This fifty page lesson focuses on the Pulitzer Prize and Tony award winning Hamilton musical. Steeped in American history and musical rap, students study the origin of the musical, themes, plot, creative team, songs and trivia. Finally, they apply this knowledge in a extension activity designed to secure the learning.

This Hamilton Broadway musical lesson can stand alone or be combined with one of my Famous Artist Biographies (Lin Manuel Miranda) or other musical lessons (Wicked, Dear Evan Hansen.) In addition, a teacher could assign this lesson to students who are distance learning with a few tweaks. #DistanceLearningTPT

Note: You receive TWO versions of this product when you purchase it. One is the regular PDF and the other is digital. I divided up the student pages from the teacher’s and added answer boxes to the question/answer sheet. I hope this helps!

Attention: There are a few swear words in the video clips. It is up to the teacher to preview the clips and/or use different ones if they deem they would be more appropriate.

The teacher will need access to youtube.com.

This lesson was created prior to the Disney movie of Hamilton and does NOT require viewing the Disney version. Please note there are several swear words in the clips, so a teacher may want to screen the clips ahead of time.

Everything is provided for the busy teacher. Just print, cue up the links and go!
