Time: Ancient Greece
Setting: Mount Olympus
Run-time: 20 minutes

“Meet the Olympians” tells the somewhat accurate story of the event that started the Trojan War. Why only “somewhat accurate”? Because “Meet the Olympians” is a spoof, poking fun at Twilight, American Idol, Michael Jackson, 300, and wrestling. “Meet the Olympians” is a great 20 minute play to produce for high school students, as part of a Night of One-Acts production, but can also be used in English Language Arts classrooms as a quick, fun read prior to any unit involving Greek mythology. The numerous allusions to popular culture gets huge laughs from the audience, and your announcer can even encourage audience participation during the Olympian Idol scene.

This play was first produced on November 9, 2012 to an audience of nearly 200.
