This is a fantastic project that really forces students to SLOW DOWN (literally) and work on facial and body exaggeration.
It could easily fit into a mime unit, or a physical comedy/movement unit.
It asks them to create a short mime where there's no talking allowed - and they mime a slow motion scene.
This handout includes
-The main task description (groups of 3-5 , 45 seconds)
-Scenarios for them to pick from (13 total)
-Tips for what would separate a good and a GREAT scene
It's fantastic to either wrap-up the mime unit, as a workshop, etc. - really short and flexible.
TIP - there's fantastic YouTube videos of famous slow motion scenes from movies (The Matrix etc).
