This shows students something SO important to anything they do in drama.
HOW they speak influences the meaning of a line.
I give this handout out every year and we always go through it because it shows them, very clearly, how important voice emphasis is.
This handout has:
-a description at the top
-an example they practice with a partner
-a list of lines for you to assign them one (they're asked to present the line the next day in class, and present the ONE line THREE ways, with different meanings each time)
TIP - before starting this - I put the following quote up on the board and I go through how emphasis each word (First "I" / Then "DIDN'T" and so on) will completely change the meaning
"I DIDN'T SAY SHE STOLE MY MONEY"
-one phrase you can say seven completely different ways!
This handout is great compliment to my SUBTEXT handout.
