This is such a good project for students to really PLAY with their voices - and change up the tone, pace, pitch etc.
They really develop their oral presentation skills in this unit of study.
(which a lot of them are weak at / afraid of so this helps!!!)
They're given a bunch of advertisements (and they can also write their own - a lot of them decide to do this, it's cool!) and they have to be creative and make a scenario around the ads that makes sense.
NOTE - the advertisements are scripts - they're all the lines typed out for students to read.
They're given two examples of scenarios to help them out.
Ex - you're driving in a car, and hear advertisements on the radio as you're trying to read your destination.
Also, the project is in groups of 3-4, which really works out.
They also sometimes will imitate super corny real-life examples - and it's hilarious.
A fantastic way for them to learn about the elements of voice, and to use them in a creative way.
Also in my shop! A lot of other VOICE projects, handouts, and rubrics:
