Guide your students to a deeper level of appreciation and understanding of the drama genre. Students will read and react to dramatic literature. They will assemble these reactions into a creative dramatic literature response journal. For each play, they will write the source information, write a one paragraph description of the setting, identify props, classify a character, classify a play, include academic vocabulary, and visualize the setting.
The students will practice and master the following skills:
-- Identify, analyze, and use dramatic literature terminology
-- Recognize and understand the significance of various dramatic devices
-- Write responses to dramatic literature
-- Visualize the settings of dramatic literature.
The design of the activity is easily adaptable for English language learners (ELD, ESL, EFL, SDAIE).
