Students use drawing and cutting techniques to create a dog, a cat, a frog, a bunny, a mouse, and a bird. Students choose to draw and color their animal OR draw, cut, and glue their animal. When their picture is finished, they use writing paper to compose sentences or labels about their picture. Word wall cards and a real life picture match are included to aid in differentiated learning and spelling.
These pages can be laminated and put into a literacy or publishing center. They also can be used as an enrichment activity for those children who finish their work early and need something fun and educational to do! When children illustrate their own work, they take an active role in their learning adventure. They retain the knowledge longer because they become an active participant in their own education! Plus they love the look of their work when they are finished and are proud to say I DID THIS!
