This set is another center kit you can add to your literacy center rotation and let your students become the best independent learners they can be. In this kit, there are step by step visual directions for students to follow and complete a drawing of something for 37 different blends, digraphs, and diphthongs. Once they are done with their drawing, they need to copy, write or fill in (you choose depending on your students!) a sentence. You can also easily differentiate with this kit. This set includes four choices for each blend/digraph/dipthong:
-Easy sentence to copy for reading and handwriting practice.
-Harder sentence to copy for reading and handwriting practice.
-An open ended question for students to practice restating and answering questions.
-Blank lines for you to write whatever you want in, so that students are practicing skills and concepts (sight words, chunks, punctuation, etc.) that you are working on in your classroom.
As you can see, this set is very versatile!
You can make this set work for you in the best way possible because of so many choices and options. I have included many different ways for you to choose from for your students to record their work, as well as very detailed directions on how to easily implement this in your classroom and make it a staple literacy center that your students can do on their own and will ask for week after week. Not to mention that your students will become even better artists and realize that, yes, they really can draw!
Please check out this list carefully to make sure there are phonics skills pertinent to your teaching. I will also be adding more as time goes on:
ai hot air balloon
b/d reversal bird
c is soft in mice
e silent whale
ea ear of corn
ink pink pig
oi oink (pig)
oo hot air balloon
st stop sign
y sounds like e cherry
Some of these are repeats, but I added them as BONUSES that you can use interchangeably depending on the skill you are teaching.
This center creates independent readers, writers, and artists! It's a win-win for teachers and students.
