Teaching irregular past tense verbs can be boring for students and it really can take a while to carry over to both receptive and expressive language domains… which is why these print-and-go mini books are so versatile! Covering 50 different irregular past verbs, your students will be practising a range of language skills all centered around these verbs. Each mini book is printed across 2 pages, but contains 8 pages of activities in total.
Receptive language goals allow for bombardment of the target word and then encourages the student to follow directions by drawing the verb in action e.g. “the children built treehouse - draw it” and to find -or- act out something that has been built.
Expressive language goals are in the form of ‘challenges’ - such as using past-present-future tense of the verb, giving directions and telling someone else something to draw using that verb and naming 3 other things that can be demonstrated by the verb.
It’s a whole language approach to teaching Irregular past tense verbs! Simply print, cut the pages horizontally and vertically... then staple to form a book and you are ready to go! Your students will love creating and drawing the verbs and showing how they come to life!
