This Lesson Plan was specifically designed to be used in conjunction with Macmillan/McGraw-Hill Treasures, Grade 3, Unit 4: Seven Spools of Thread story. However, this lesson plan could be used to supplement any curriculum to teach students how to draw conclusions. By the end of this lesson, the students should be able to analyze and evaluate what is read to draw conclusions from text details supported by text evidence.. This lesson plan includes objectives, essential questions, standards, evaluation methods, materials needed, and the procedural steps for the attention getter, summary directive, group instruction/demonstration, guided practice, independent practice, assessment, and closure. This lesson plan includes several hands on activities that are engaging and provide several visual aide ideas so that the students can practice and master the reading and comprehension skill of drawing conclusions based to text evidence.
