In this project activity, students must draw, color and name at least eight items in the bedroom. Also, they label on the walls any closets, windows, and doors, all in Spanish. Once they have illustrated and labeled the room, they produce sentences that describe the color, location, and quantity of the items in the room, using location words, 'hay,' the verbs 'ser' and 'estar', and the colors.
This is a fun activity for the students, and the sentences are scaffolded with several examples. Students are encourages to vary their sentence structure, and there is a rubric provided to which they can refer to when doing the project. Students produce written vocabulary and sentences in Spanish, and can share their production with a small presentation after completion.
This project works well to publish in the halls, and is great for Spanish 1 and 2. Fits well with Realidades 1 6a
