This is a fun self-portrait drawing activity that incorporates careers, appropriate for all elementary grade levels. I have taught this lesson for many years and typically do this activity with first grade - I would recommend a step-by-step teacher demonstration for grades K-2, while 3-5 may be able to work independently from the instructions.
This lesson is great for an academic classroom or the art room!
Students will practice drawing shapes using proportion, as well as including details, doing research, and using their imaginations. There are also reflection questions for the end of the activity.
Materials required are paper, pencil, black marker (like a sharpie), and crayons or paints for color.
The instructions are on 2 pages which can be printed front and back on a single sheet.
