What do Dreams Mean?
This is a quick and fun activity to help students analyze their dreams using the most common theories about the purpose of dreaming.
Ask students to keep a dream journal for a few days- week.
Some dream recall techniques: You have to want to remember, Reread over past dreams, Be patient and do not force a memory
Keep a journal next to your bed.
Write down everything you remember as soon as you wake up even if it doesn’t make sense to you at the time. This can include: people, colors, location, feelings, language spoken, etc.
Ask students to choose one or two dreams to analyze from the dream journal (if they don’t have any dreams, ask them to write down a vivid dream from the past to analyze.)
Choose a task card to use as a dream analysis technique. Each card has a different technique.
The students can rotate the cards around the room as they finish them.
Alternatively, you can analyze a dream a day during the unit and for each day have students pick different task cards.
