This fun and challenging Dream House for Sale Descriptive Writing Activity for your Middle School (grade 5 and up) students is such a great way to get into the spring season!
Taking on the role of a buyer, students will use descriptive writing strategies to create a paragraph that describes their Dream House. Students will identify strong vocabulary and descriptive phrases, complete a brainstorming graphic organizer, transform boring sentences into detailed descriptions, and finally, create a real estate flyer advertising their Dream House for Sale!
**PLEASE NOTE: If you already own our Gingerbread House for Sale Descriptive Writing Unit, this is the SAME resource, except adjusted for a students' dream house. All activities are the same!**

- Examples of Descriptive Writing for Selling a House Handout:
This handout provides students with real estate descriptions that could be used in their Dream House Flyer they will be writing. Students also practice using stronger and more specific vocabulary with this activity.
- Creating Stronger Sentences Handout:
Students practice writing stronger sentences with the use of adjectives, adverbs, and prepositional phrases. Students are provided with definitions and examples of each, as well as examples of poor sentences to expand upon to create stronger, more vivid and descriptive sentences.
- Real Estate Flyer Template:
We've included a template for your students to create their own real estate flyer for their Dream House for Sale. Please see the example in our cover.
