Your students will love learning about main idea and detail with their dream jars.
Students draw the details of their dream on the jar - as if it has been captured and placed in the jar. They add as many details as they can. This could be drawn or written.
They then create a label for the jar and write the main idea or theme of the dream, before gluing it on.
I have also provided lined jar-shaped writing paper should you wish to extend this activity to a full writing lesson and ask your students to write out their dream as a story. These pages can then be stamped behind the main idea/detail jar cover.
A plain jar is also included should you wish to create your own theme for this activity.
