This creative writing activity is a great way to get parents involved with activities in the classroom. Students start by prewriting in a journal about what they would disguise their turkey as in order to save them from the dinner table on Thanksgiving Day. They also share why they chose the disguise idea. Then have students take home the turkey with the the parent note and a detailed return date. Display the turkeys on a creative and fun bulletin board. You can use camo paper, camo netting and other fun ideas to display the creativity of your students and their families. There are even more journals to continue writing about the events and turkey disguises. Have fun and enjoy!
