Great for distance learning! Get story prompts that combine to make a mini-book, even as you help students work on their sequencing skills! This first story in the “Drifty the Dragon” Series is about a 10-year-old dragon who wants to breathe fire and have a birthday party.
How do these WRITING prompts work? The first page of each book starts a story. On most successive pages, students are given an opening sentence and an ending sentence. They get to use their CREATIVITY to figure out what comes between the two ideas presented, which helps them better understand SEQUENCING.
With a handy Brainstorm sheet, students work to include all five of their senses and at least one form of FIGURATIVE LANGUAGE. By the time students finish writing the last page of their book, they have a story that is uniquely their own.
This download includes thirteen areas for students to respond to the story’s prompts before they easily fold and glue their pages into an amazing mini-booklet.
This fun activity motivates students to want to write more!
