YOU DO NOT NEED A DRONE FOR THIS LAB!!! This lab actually has two separate folders: one for teachers who have access to a drone (or even a helium balloon that is tied to a kite string!) and one for teachers with no drone. Any way you do it, you get a customized lab, designed to help your students use right-angle trig, law of sines, and law of cosines in real-world situations. If you are droneless, the whole simulation is set up for you. You can choose whatever drone heights you like and enter it into the easy grader, an Excel file that shows you all of the answers that each group should obtain. If you have a drone, you will take students to your football field. I have included a page that tells each student where to stand to view the drone. Of course, there are also detailed instructions on what you should do as the teacher. The only thing the students need are clinometers, which can easily be found as phone/iPad apps or created using a protractor, a string, and some small weight. You can use the easy grader file to enter the angles that students found in order to instantly determine all of their answers. This is a truly amazing lab! Your students will truly enjoy it and be impressed with the drone, which can also take pictures of your activity from high in the air! If you are looking to impress an administrator, look no further!
