Drop the Number
is a fun activity to use when practicing place value counting and comparing numbers. You'll need to make ten number sticks for each student using craft sticks and a marker. Draw ten dots on one side of the stick and one dot on the other side. Students will need their ten sticks and a recording sheet to do the activity. They toss the ten sticks and count the number. Next, they draw and write the number on the recording sheet. After students have recorded all of their numbers, they compare them using the correct symbols. (less than, greater than, equal) Great for First Graders and struggling Second Graders. This activity is also included in my Math Bundle Set
