This file contains a 7-page flip book that contains the dropping spelling rule, examples, and student activities to identify words with silent “e”, vowel/consonant suffixes, a checklist to complete and practice. Just print, cut-out, layer the pages, and staple. The flip book is great to use with individual students, small groups, centers, or even an entire class. You can make one for each student or laminate and make for students to use with a dry erase marker.

The base word ends in final silent “e
You are adding a VOWEL suffix
In this situation, drop the final “e” and add the suffix. DO NOT drop the final “e” if you are adding a consonant suffix.
