This project is designed to get my students thinking about the scheduling and legality of drugs in relation to their effects (addiction rates, side effects and lethality) in our society. I do this project in my neurobiology and drug addiction course. In the project each group outlines the past, present and what they think the future legality of an assigned drug should be. Rubric and components are attached. Students love this project as it challenges them and stretches their thinking in terms of the fine lines between science and the law.
