Included are three mini-assessment pieces to use during the completion of Drums, Girls and Dangerous Pie. Each assessment contains specific directions and a rubric for the students/teacher to follow.
Assessment #1: Comparing themes poetry activity (poem provided, compare and contrast tone and theme in poem to novel)
Assessment #2: Scene Activity- recreate a scene from the book (requirements and rubric included)
Assessment #3: Reviewing figurative language- students find various examples of figurative language in book, cite evidence, explain and present in power point form (review power point of fig. language terms included, rubric and requirements sheet)
