Dual Language Nonverbal Hand Signals in Black/White Polka Dot
When I cannot locate classroom items to fit in with my classroom decor and/or with my need, I create my own. Again, my work is hopefully your gain.
This set was created in the request order most popular with my students this past school year. They differ slightly from most referenced nonverbal hand signals currently used. Thus, I created this set in black and white polka dot color scheme.
I use hand signals with my students to reduce interruptions during instruction, whole group and/or small group. However, they are effective throughout the day! My students will even use them during our “visits” outside the classroom, e.g. library, Specials, etc. It is truly a great classroom management tool.
This set includes five different hand signals: first, restroom (They need to go first thing in the morning.); second, drink (Aren’t your students always parched?); third, pencil (Oh, yes!); fourth, tissue (Especially when the seasons change.); and fifth, question.
Requests are both in English and Spanish. The posters come in two sizes, 8 ½ x 11 and smaller than half-sheet. (These fit my cabinet doors.)
Font used for these posters was “Smiley Monster” from KevinandAmanda.com.
Please contact me if you have any questions and/or have a special request (theme, font, or otherwise), please feel free to contact me.
