Confession: I'm a music teacher, but my own child is in kindergarten and needed extra practice with his sight words so I adapted a game I use in my room for him. He loves it and its a great way to get kinesthetic learners more engaged.
This set includes 9 sight words in the game. I started to include 27 (which is all the words on my son's current list) but it was too many for a functional game so I decided to divide it into smaller groups.
Set 3 words include: like, on, are, we, said, can, the, and, my
How to play: This is a card game. Players take turns drawing a card off the top of the deck. If a duck is selected they shout “duck” and put the duck in the discard file. If a word is selected the player that drew the card must read the word and then find the matching word hanging in the area.
You might be able to use this as a center but you could also throw it in a baggie and send it home for extra practice for at home fun.
