This activity works great as a math center or to supplement and provide a hands on experience when teaching subtraction!
Students will use manipulatives to act out subtraction problems created by you or themselves. Then they will use a dry erase marker to write the subtraction sentence on the lines.
I have also included practice pages that can be used in small group, independent work, or with the work mats! Two of the pages have number words in the stories. These problems are also included using numbers instead of the words. I have also provided an open ended page with ducks to be cut out. Students can show subtraction by gluing the ducks into the pond and out of the pond. They will cross out the ducks that leave the pond. Then write a subtraction sentence to match.
