For all of you teachers out there who have to teach the Distributive Property in elementary school, this is the Power Point for you! I'm sure you have realized that the way we are expected to teach the distributive property is actually backwards...instead of distributing the factor, we are breaking apart the sum!
This presentation walks students through the distributive property one step at a time allowing them to see each part of the process. It also answers the dreaded question "What's the point?"
There are multiple examples, including ones with arrays. There are also questions at the end for the students to try on their own followed by explanations of the answers.
The thumbnails will look confusing as each slide contains text boxes that will fade in and out on clicks, allowing the students to focus on one step at a time
