Detroit is a perfect film that shows the Detroit Riots unfolding, the inequities of police brutality of the 1960's, and the Civil Rights Movements. This would fit perfectly in a US History course or a Sociology course.
The film Dunkirk takes place in 1940 and depicts an event in World War II. England and France are at war with Germany, who invaded in May 1940 through lands in the south. British and French armies in Belgium were suddenly surrounded. During the Battle of France, Allied soldiers are stuck in Dunkirk. Hundreds of thousands of troops are trying to evacuate. Germans threatened to wipe all British and French forces in Belgium. At the last minute, the Allies had just enough time to evacuate thousands of men through the port town of Dunkirk.
