Dunkirk is a 2017 war film written, directed, and co-produced by Christopher Nolan. The Film portrays the evacuation from three perspectives: land, sea, and air. It has little dialogue, as Nolan sought instead to create suspense from cinematography and music.
For the soldiers who were on land Dunkirk may have lasted a week. Those on water, the events lasted for a day. By air to Dunkirk, the British spitfires would carry one hour of fuel. Nolan provides the viewer with a glimpse of a week, a day and an hour from three separate perspectives.
