This activity is designed to serve as an icebreaker for the first day of school. It is a fun way for kids to come back and tell their friends and teachers about what they did during the summer.

There are a ton of ways you could use this on the first day, or even during the first week! You could have this be one of the first seat-work activities they do, you could have them complete it in pairs, you could have them share in small groups or do "author's chair" and share what they wrote with the whole class! It is open-ended enough that all your students should feel like they have something to write. There is enough space in each "telling" spot, that if they aren't great writers yet, they could use a combination of writing/simple pictures.

Purchase Includes:

  • 1 During the Summer Writing Prompt Color Activity Sheet
  • 1 During the Summer Writing Prompt Black/White Activity Sheet
