CVC Words Packets 1 & 2
Takes the guess work and dictionary work out of finding the right CVC words for your lesson or student.
I originally created this packet for my own use. Then shared with some reading specialist colleagues, and now I've organized it into a TPT reference guide here for you.
Dyslexia reading specialists working with all ages,
teachers who create their own literacy content,
TPT illustrators/clip art artists
Every CVC and VC noun in the standard American-English language, that follows the rules of spelling, and is not considered an explicit word unsuitable for school use, is included here, alphabetically.
It took quite some time to compile a complete list, with some help from Merriam-Webster!
I use the term CVC in regards to the sound pattern, not just the letter pattern meaning that digraphs and double consonant endings are included.
The words are organized by vowel type, to facilitate systematic instruction for students that are learning to master one vowel sound at a time.
Compiling separate lists of just nouns, adjectives, and verbs allows teachers to focus on comprehension, vocabulary, and grammar, while still providing systematic phonics instruction to students who need it. - i.e. Dyslexia-Friendly.
This reference packet is also great for teachers creating original lessons and content.
Illustrators can use it to create pictures of CVC words that are less familiar too.
Packet 1: CVC Nouns is 7 pages long, with each page focusing on 1 vowel sound.
Includes a cover page, a table of contents, 5 word pages, and a glossary page.
