I wrote this 4th grade level reading about the benefits of dyslexia for a dyslexic 4th grade student to enjoy.
The simple black font (Arial size 14) and 1.5 line spacing ensure that the reading can be enjoyed by those with visual sensitivities. Challenging words are spread out throughout the reading to prevent fatigue, and it’s packed with fun facts and written engagingly to keep readers' attention.
The reading is suitable for decoding/fluency practice or reading comprehension practice. Students should be comfortable with basic prefixes and suffixes and grade level sight words to get the most out of this reading.
The file contains no photos, so as to not exhaust purchasers' ink supplies. You can easily print out photos that match the story if you so choose- or even better, show photos on a large screen that allows for zooming in.
