This anticipation guide is perfect for a dystopian unit in a reading class or a dictatorship unit in a social studies class. It asks students to read different statements about government control and decide if they agree or disagree. This should be done before the actual unit. Students should save it to and go back to it after the unit is complete. It will ask them to reflect on their answers to see if they changed their mind. I usually first give them time to complete it by themselves, then I read each of the statements and asked them to move to a different part of the room if they agree or disagree. This turns in to a whole class discussion because students share out their reasoning.
