Lesson 8 - Articles and Convention
This lesson was written as a two week lesson for junior high and ESL. The lesson covers: Organization of the national government; weaknesses of the Articles; accomplishments under the Articles, including the Land Ordinance of 1785 and the Northwest Ordinance; the Annapolis Convention and the Constitutional Convention in Philadelphia; the Virginia Plan and arguments against it; the New Jersey Plan and the Connecticut Compromise; other compromises; ratification and the Bill of Rights. Each lesson contains four assignments. Each assignment has the reading for that assignment, with key vocabulary, comprehension questions, and one or two short answer essay questions.
