Celebrate Earth Day with these leveled readers! As an author for Scholastic Canada, I understand the importance of having books for your students that are engaging, use rich vocabulary but still reinforce those important sight words.
The readers include 3 levels of differentiation in both fiction and nonfiction. As a BONUS, your students have the opportunity to CREATE THEIR OWN BOOKS – both in fiction and nonfiction. Nothing boosts a student’s confidence like being able to read AND write a book!
PLUS, I’ve included a bonus activity for each genre!
These leveled readers are NO PREP! Simply print back to back on a sheet of paper and then fold the paper in half. They are coded, making it easy for you to see the reading level but it’s not obvious for students. It’s perfect to use when beginning readers want to fit in with higher-level readers!
Included in this resource:
* Ready-to-print readers (fiction and nonfiction) [Uses only ONE sheet of paper per student!]
* Book templates so students can write their own books
* “Taking Care of the Earth” nonfiction activity sheet
* “Design a Robot” activity sheet
* Info on designing a fun Recycling Robot
