Introduce your students to ECUADOR with this printable handout of two worksheets (plus answer key). Your students will read a brief overview of Ecuador (location, capital, flag, language), write 'Quito' next to the star on the map to show the capital, draw a line across Ecuador (above Quito and through the Galápagos Islands) to show the equator, color the flag and map, then use the map and compass to answer 7 questions. Colored pencils or crayons and a pen or pencil are needed for this activity. No other prep needed.
For use with Interactive Notebooks: After the handouts are completed, cut out the map and flag and paste into the notebook under the topic of South America / Subtopic: Ecuador. Under the map and flag, your students will write a summary in their own words of what they now know about Ecuador.
Collect handouts for each country of South America: Argentina, Bolivia, Brazil, Colombia, Chile, Ecuador, Guyana, Paraguay, Peru, Suriname, Uruguay, Venezuela, and dependent territory French Guiana. Printable handouts are also available to review South America as a whole: South America Countries and Capitals, South America Word Search Puzzle, South America Fill in the Blank.
