This file includes a nameplate with cursive alphabet, parts of speech reference guide, behavior system reference chart, & compass buddies. There is also a “sticker pad” which could be used for students to add character to their desks with stickers they earn throughout the year.
This template is EDITABLE, so you can easily change the rewards/consequences listed under “Behavior.” Or you can take out the “Behavior” and “Parts of Speech” sections to add in your own text/reference guides.
I am using these templates in my own classroom and LOVE how they turned out. They fit into the Desktop Helpers 18" vinyl sleeve made by Really Good Stuff. I printed them on colored paper using different neon colors, and, in addition to using the Compass Buddies template for easy student pairing, I'm able to put students in small groups quickly by the color of their nameplates.
Compass buddies: Sometime in the first days of school, students write various classmates’ names on the blank lines. Then, you can easily pair up students throughout the year by instructing students to meet with their “Northwest Buddy,” etc. If you have an odd number of students, they can write in two peers’ names to make a group of 3.
***Note to Mac users: The fonts are embedded in the PowerPoint file, but sometimes they're not recognized, so you may need to download the fonts separately. I have them listed on the credits page and they're available for free for personal use.
