Are you looking for a quick way to document when you meet with your students during your reading block? These monthly reading recording sheets were developed to help me keep track of what kind of small group instruction each of my students were receiving every day. I was sick of wasting a few minutes every day thinking, “Who should I meet with now?” Minutes that could be spent working with students! I also find it helpful during data meetings or SST meetings when admin asks me how often I meet with specific students.
**UPDATED FOR 2018-2019 SCHOOL YEAR**
How I Use This Resource In My Classroom
I type my students' names in the boxes, and then I print a copy to keep in my conferring binder. The dates for each month are listed at the top of each monthly recording sheet. Then as I meet with students, I write a code in the box that corresponds with the date: C for individual conference, S for strategy group, G for guided group, RR for running record.

What You CAN Edit
--Entering your students’ names. The form auto-populates, so you only need to enter them once! If you'd rather handwrite your students' names, just delete the text boxes.
What you CANNOT Edit
--Adding the codes to the individual boxes
--Changing the font or font size of the boxes. If a student has a longer name, it might not fit in the box
--Changing the size of the rows, columns, or whole table
--Adding more rows or columns to the tables. Each table is formatted for 22 students, so if you have more than that, you will need to print a second copy.
This file goes from August 2018-July 2019. Since dates change from year to year, I will be updating this file every year by July 31st. Please download the preview to get a closer look.
