Description
Hot Seat is my most competitive game I play with my students, and they LOVE it! This version is now editable within Google Slides (TM). This game set covers the future and conditional tenses. I love La Silla Caliente because it is a great way to get ALL of my students engaged at the same time, and allows me to formatively assess where every student is individually! This game uses movement to keep students motivated and eager to play :) But you can adjust by passing a "key" item between team members if you don't want movement.
You will download a PDF that contains a link to your own editable copy within Google Drive. There is also a link for you to access your own copy of an editable digital score tracker that I designed for this activity!

This game of LA SILLA CALIENTE (hot seat!) assesses student knowledge of:
*uses and conjugations of future and conditional tenses
*regular and (some) irregular verbs in each tense
*similarities and differences between the two tenses
I love this game because all students play, and all students MATTER!! If you've never played before, directions are on the first slide. Please check out the preview to get a better idea!
The presentation provides 30 question slides, with each answer on the slide immediately following the question. Questions progress from easy to difficult through four question categories.
1) The first category asks simple clarifying questions about the two tenses (x5)
2) The second category provides True/False statements about the future and conditional tenses (x5)
3) The third category calls students to conjugate regular and irregular verbs in each tense (x15)
4) The fourth and final category prompts students to answer short-response open ended questions. (x5)
This is my most popular game with my high school students. They beg for it!
