Description
Hot Seat is my most competitive game I play with my students, and they LOVE it! This version is now editable within Google Slides (TM). This game set covers the imperfect tenses (imperfecto). I love La Silla Caliente because it is a great way to get ALL of my students engaged at the same time, and allows me to formatively assess where every student is individually! This game uses movement to keep students motivated and eager to play :) But you can adjust by passing a "key" item between team members if you don't want movement.
You will download a PDF that contains a link to your own editable copy within Google Drive. There is also a link to the Editable Digital Score Tracker that I designed for this activity!

This game of LA SILLA CALIENTE (hot seat!) assesses student knowledge of imperfect tense verb conjugations
I love this game because all students play, and all students MATTER!! If you've never played before, directions are on the first slide. Please check out the preview to get a better idea!
The presentation provides 30 question slides, with each answer on the slide immediately following the question. Questions progress from general tense questions into verb conjugations and open response.
1) The first category is made of true/false statements about the imperfect tense (x5)
2) The second group motivates students to identify / distinguish between sentences that are in the imperfect tense compared to the preterite. (x5)
3) The third group of questions directs students to complete sentences using provided verbs in the imperfect tense (x15)
4) The final group if consisted of open response questions that call for short-answers. (x5)
