5 question quizzes for every chapter of To Kill a Mockingbird. It also has periodic bonus questions. All answers are included. I make my students respond fill-in-the-blank style on index cards and grade them out of ten points. Some questions have two responses, so I give them a point for each correct answer. The bonus questions I usually count for two points. By the end of the novel, they have 310 points worth of chapter quizzes, so it weighs pretty heavily on the unit. I would usually give a chapter or two for reading every day, so I'd usually have a quiz almost every day of the unit. It keeps them up to speed. Most of my class would usually fail the first couple quizzes until they realized I wasn't bluffing. Then they started reading and passing. They are simple recall questions to see if they've read. No deep analysis. It's a Word doc, so you can edit any question you'd like. That way you can test things that you may have specifically covered in class.
