The writing goals clip chart system keeps writing from being so overwhelming for beginning writers and allows every child to feel successful.
Print, laminate, and hang with ribbon. Then write students’ names on clothespins. Each week they pick a writing goal to really focus on during their journal writings and clip their name to that skill on the chart. Once they have progressed in their writing, you might start a second round of clothespins on the other side and have them focus on two skills each week.
